Spezza tries to cheat by breaking his stick intentionally and trying to exchange it at the bench with a legal one, but the referees catch that too. The stick is measured and Spezza gets a 2 minute penalty for using an illegal stick.

Yes it is illegal when you can shoot directly behind yourself.

Only two minutes for that? Okay, well at least Ottawa won 2-1.
